 Do you know what global warming is?? Well basically Carbon Dioxide (we breathe it out) goes up into the air and acts like a big clear blanket for the earth, (clear so the sun's heat and light can get through) so basically it keeps the heat in! At the moment we have more global warming then ever before, because there is more cars, factories and less plants then ever before, so the earth is extra warm. You might be thinking, 'Great! This time next December we could be walking around in our shorts!' Well you couldn't be more WRONG. You see because of the heat places like Antarctica and the North Pole will melt which courses lots of problems. The first problem is animals the polar bear, penguins and other animals who live in a cold climax will become extinct, but the biggest problem is the water levels will rise so that entire, towns, cities and maybe even whole country's may be washed away by the tide and I am sure that you don't want that happening to your home do you?! We may become like the lost city of Atlantic! Did you know in 30 years we could ALL be dead? Sad but true! If you are older you may be thinking, so what! I'll be dead by then anyway! Well if this is you think about your children, their children. You don't want them die because there isn't enough Oxygen because WE didn't look after our Earth now do you?? Well as you know we need Oxygen to live right? Was as you know we don and we breath out Carbon Dioxide (don't go killing your self because you think that we are the course of Global warming now! That is NOT true!) Plants make Oxygen and take in Carbon Dioxide so they are REALLY helping us with BOTH the problems!! But you see the problem is their isn't enough trees or plants to stop these problems altogether. Do you know why? Because of US. WE cut down loads plants each year! Do you know who the main people are that cut down the most trees? No not paper company's, nope not DIY wood suppliers, not builders who need the land.MC DONALDS Yes McDonalds! And do you know why? Well they buy the land, CUT DOWN THE TREES and then use the land to graze cows! Do you know what GRAZE means? Nope not breed, KILL. Yes McDonalds Cut down our main supper of Oxygen, to kill cows so they can make us burgers! What would you rather have? Your life, or Burgers? I am NOT saying don't go there any more because I mean I LOVE McDonalds! Just don't go as often and people that run McDonalds if you are reading PLEASE stop cutting down trees!! What can I do to help? Don't worry I am not going to say go and chain your self to a tree in protest or become a tree hugger! Simply WALK MORE! You see cars take in Oxygen and give out Carbon Dioxide! Also walking help you stay in shape and fit! Also FACTORIES do the same as cars only twice as fast so if you are thinking of building factories think again mate! Also what would help a lot is planting trees and plants in your garden!
