 First of all, you need to decide on a colour scheme. Have a look at the following:
Go to one of those cheap shops and buy bits 'n' pieces - wastepaper basket, desk tidy, candles, pots, cute things, windchimes, whatever! Try and make sure they fit in with your colours! Do any modifying of these items: like painting wicker wastepaper baskets, filling baskets up with shells or pot pourri etc. etc. Rearrange the furniture in your room wherever possible. This is guaranteed to make your room feel different! When you get the chance, buy a new duvet cover and curtains. You might also want new lampshades or rugs or whatever! Look at your walls and decide what needs adding. Fresh posters? A mirror or bulletin board? Maybe a few shelves?! A clock? Spend a day or so tidying and adding all your 'accessories' to your room.
