Budgeting Tips

• Remove wallpaper and floor tiles (ctrl and click whilst on the 'floor' or 'paintbrush' options) to get back some money when redecorating.
  
• If you sell an item on the same day as you bought it, you will get the full money back. This is especially useful for parties etc.
  
• Get your Sims to cook food rather than buying cake, pizza, chicken or snacks. It's quite a lot cheaper in the long run.
  
• Give your Sim a long list of things to do, and put 'Eat' at the end. That way if the food goes off (flies start buzzing round it), your Sim will still eat it and not waste money.
  
• Don't spend a lot on things you don't need. Furnish a room with essentials first and then see how much your Sims like the room. If they still don't like it totally, add a couple of cheap pictures.
  
• Plan ahead when building or extending your house, so you end up with rooms of a reasonable size and you don't end up overspending on pointless accessories and items.
