The Sims Services

Always, always employ a maid (pick up the phone, Services > Maid). That way you don't have to bother making beds, clearing up old food etc. Alternatively buy a cheap trash can and delete it every time it gets full. What I normally do is make my Sims clear up last night's dinner and make breakfast. The maid usually cleans the shower and toilet, clears up spills, old food, trash, and makes the bed. It's definitely worth your money!

Caterer - if you have House Party, you'll have this option! Call the caterer just after you put tables/buffet tables out, and the Caterer will fill them up, and refill them. He will also clean up any mess and any left over food after the party, and can even help to keep your guests entertained! Very valuable to any party.

Gardener - if you have any plants, even inside the house (this doesn't include any types of tree or bush, or the red roses in a white container), then employ the gardener to water them every 3 days so you don't have to bother. Watering plants is a big waste of Sims time, and dead plants make the Room score go down. A Gardener will also water your vegetable plot!

Pizza - don't have time to cook? Or maybe your Sims don't have any cooking skills? This is a good soultion. It will take approx. one hour for the pizza to be delivered, so make sure you have a SIM on hand to greet the pizza boy! Your Sims may need 2-3 slices of pizza if they're really hungry, and it's also a good idea to get a pizza in if you have guests. If your Sims keep getting an urge to wash their hands after every slice - don't let them! Tis a waste of precious time.

Repairman - Unless your Sims have got about 8 or 9 skill points from reading Mechanical books, don't bother making your Sims repair stuff, it puts them in such a bad mood! Either delete the tiem and buy new, or call the repairman in.

Fire brigade - Call them if one of your Sims starts a huge fire. Prank calls will result in a fine.

Police - You shouldn't need to call them. Put a burglar alarm on each corner of your house. If your Sims are asleep and a burglar comes, as long as you have alarms the police will catch him. There's no point getting your Sims up to call the police if they are asleep, the police won;t get thre in time anyway.

Pest Control - This option will only show up if you get a skunk or something on your property. Call the pest control if you see one because it will stink your Sims' garden out lol.
