Transparent GIFs

Transparent images are both important and useful. They come in handy for thousands of things, ranging from cartoon dolls to link buttons.

1. Make/find the image you want to make transparent. It's VERY important to remember that if your image is already saved as a .gif, this probably won't work. Try and copy and paste the image from somewhere, or save it as a .bmp.
2. Colour the background in any colour that's not already used on the picture, using the Flood Fill. I normally use lime green (#00FF00). Remember not to miss places like the inside of the letter 'A' for example, or between arms.

3. Go to Animation > Replace colour.

4. Make sure the colour you picked before (in my case lime green - #00FF00) has shown up in the first box. Make sure transparent opacity is selected in the second.

5. Click 'Ok' and save your image as a .gif.
