Creating layers using two or more pictures isn't difficult to do, and adds great effects to your designs. Not only good for layouts, layers have many other uses such as link buttons, gifts, awards and image maps. 1. Take two pictures roughly the same size. I'm using a kitty I found through a search engine, and this picture of a city at night. ![]() 2. Copy one picture onto the other (right click the image and press 'copy', then 'paste' onto the other) so it completely covers it. 3. Go to Layers > Properties. Where it says 'Normal', change that to whatever effect you'd like to use. I've found that 'Darken' and 'Lighten' work the best. Underneath that, it should say 'Opacity'. Change that number too to give a better effect. Don't make it lower than about 60 though! 4. Click 'Ok'. Your image is complete :D ![]() If this tutorial helped you, please link me on your site.
