Background (Circuit Board)

Want to create a great background for a layout, but don't have the patience for anything difficult? This simple tutorial will leave you with a striking background :)

1. Open up a new image in PS, whatever size you like.
2. Go to Filter > Render > Clouds (at the top of the screen), and then Filter > Pixelate > Mosaic.

3. Depending on the size of your image, you may need to change the 'cell size'. If your image is big, increase the cell size, if it's small, reduce it etc. Don't worry too much about it though!
4. Next, go to Filter > Sketch > Photocopy and press 'Ok', leaving the settings on 7 and 8.
5. Then go to Filter > Stylize > Emboss, using the following settings: Angle: 165 Height: 100 Amount: 295. Don't worry if the colour goes all icky, we'll sort that out in a minute.
6. Finally, go to Filter > Stylise > Find Edges, and the colour will be restored :D If you don't like the colour, see my 'Colourising' tutorial for help on how to change it. The bigger your image is, the more effective the final result looks.
