Shadow Text

1. Create a new image in Photoshop, and fill the background any colour you like using the floodfill bucket.
2. On the left hand side, in the menu, there should be a text tool (it looks like a ‘T’). Click it, and click on your image, and write the text you want to add a shadow to.
3. Now on the menu on the right hand side of your screen, make sure you click the 'Layers' tab (circled in red below), then click your top layer (mine's called 'Star-Gi...'), hold your left mouse button down and press the 'Ctrl' button. When you let go, you should find your text becomes selected.

4. If you've done it right, your text should look like this:

5. Then go to Layer > Layer Style > Drop Shadow (at the top of the screen). Or, you can go to Inner Shadow if you like. Play around with the settings till you get something you like, then click 'Ok'.
6. Finally, go to Select > Deselect, and save.
