Bandwidth - How many times and image/page on your site can be reloaded without your site going down.

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) - Changes the colours and attributes of scrollbars and links, and can change text and backgrounds.

Digiart - Short for digital art, these are usually photos or images that have been edited using different techniques that give the pic a whole new look.

Domain - A website ending in .com, .net, .org, .co.uk, etc.

HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) - Used to code web sites and make, say, a background blue or a piece of text Verdana.

Hyperlinks (links) - A piece of text or an image which, when clicked upon, takes you to another page or web site.

Image formats - The different ways to save/use images depending on whether they are photos, cartoons etc. An example is jenni.gif.

Javascript - Used to write useful things like simple games, clocks, calculators etc.

Page Anchors - These are links which, when clicked on, take you to a different part of the same page. Useful to highlight a link or separate out long pages.

Page Builders - Online editors you can use to make a web site. These are very basic and good for beginners. An example is geocities.com.

Page Tags - Separate the parts of your page out into a logical order. Certain things go in certain sections of the page.

PHP - Like HTML, but you can use one file to change parts of all the pages on your site.

Textarea - A box of code in which you can type HTML code and it will show up as code for people to copy/paste.

Web hosts - A site usually company/business that hosts your web site, either free or for a small cost.
