E-mail Forms

Want people to be able to e-mail you quickly, and you get all the info about them you need? Use this quick and easy to follow tutorial! E-mail forms are especially good for 'Win my Award!' pages on your site, and essential for cliques and blogs. So, here goes...

1. Sign up at Bravenet, and register for an e-mail form.
2. Get the copy/paste code for it, and paste into a blank page on your sitebuilder.
3. Take out the part of the code which has the button linking back to Bravenet if you like (if you do this then make sure you link Bravenet on your 'Credits' page!).
4. Erase all the fields from the 3rd line down, except the last line.
5. Now insert this code after the third line of your Bravenet code:

6. Don't forget to take the star (*) out of the last TEXTAREA code. Change all the colours, fonts etc., and add more fields to your form if you want. A nice tip is to delete all the coding of the table, then you end up with a mostly transparent form which will match your layout much better.
7. Save your page and go look at it. If you like it, put the code you just created onto your web site, in a place where people can see it easily. If you don't like it, go back and change it.
8. Test it by filling it out yourself to make sure it works.

*Note* It was suggested by Kate that I add the fact you can make a 'Thanks' page (for example thanks.html) to thank people for filling out your form after they've sent the info. This can be done with the options for email forms on Bravenet, so have a look around the control panel :)
